Sam worked for Centrelink as a Job Capacity Assessor, helping people get linked into suitable return-to-work programs. In this role he would undertake an assessment of a person’s current and future capacity to work via interview-based methodology. He delivered Job Capacity Assessment services in line with legislative requirements, and professional codes applicable to APS and ASORC. Through the session, Sam and the client would identify barriers to employment and interventions to address them so that the client could return to work. He would also liaise with other internal and external professionals to complete assessments and make appropriate referrals, specifically to GPs, Employment Services and service staff
